﹒This intermediate level course is suitable for learners aged 10-12 in the fifth or sixth grade who are from a Chinese cultural background and have a fairly good command of basic Chinese.
﹒Upon completion, learners will be able to grasp 115 new characters and 100 new bi-syllabic and multi-syllabic words and be able to reproduce the 12 texts studied in their own words. 
﹒Learners will be able to describe a variety of personal appearances, personalities, feelings, and personal relationships. In addition, they will be able to raise and answer questions concerning people, things, and shopping. 
﹒Learners will have satisfactory knowledge of Chinese holidays, festivals and customs, and they will be aware of the similarities and dissimilarities between Chinese and Western cultures. 
﹒Learners will learn to interact with peers and teachers in completing classroom activities and independently complete daily homework.
